Musician Biographies

Michelle Chenard

Singer-songwriter Michelle Chenard is the darling of northern Michigan's music scene having built an ardent fanbase through her engaging performances at swanky venues and music festivals in Petoskey, Bay Harbor and Harbor Springs. This former Yooper (that's upper peninsula in Yooperese for you non-Michiganders) started her musical career as a teenager rocking the U.P. in several bands before her peripatetic yearnings drew her south. She entertained at Disney resorts, and toured throughout the southern U.S., several successful tours in Europe followed. Next, she touched down on the east coast, showcasing at such venerable establishments as CBGB's and The Stone Pony.

 Mike Ridley

The day Mike Ridley received his third layoff notice in two years while teaching public school in rural northern Michigan, he began to suspect that destiny was calling. So, from the middle brow world of small town academia he tuned his guitar and turned his attention to the heartburn and hangovers of smoke filled beer gardens, bowling alleys and dusk to dawn cribbage games acquiring along the way a taste for the night life and a penchant for story telling. Soon he became a regular favorite in the counties bordering the upper Great Lakes but felt the need to journey south to Detroit and dive into a folk/country scene that he soon discovered had long since dissipated.

Pete Kehoe

Pete Kehoe

Pete’s been performing professionally for over 25 years, in groups of all kinds and as a solo artist. He’s played venues of all sizes all over the U.S. and Canada, and has opened up for artists such as The Romantics, Foghat, Humble Pie, Jonathan Edwards, Matt “Guitar” Murphy, Mitch Ryder, Rick Derringer, and most recently, Hootie & The Blowfish.

Nelson Olstrom

Nelson Olstrom is a native of Northern Michigan,
born and raised in "Boyne Country". As a life long musician, playing music has allowed him the opportunity to travel the US and Europe; performing from Mackinaw City, Michigan to Madeira Beach, Florida and from Stockholm, Sweden to St Moritz, Switzerland. These Days "Boyne Country" is home again. Performing a variety of musical styles ranging from acoustic, pop, rock, country and blues, has made Nelson a favorite on the Northern Michigan music scene.

Hipps-N-Ricco are based out of Northern Michigan and are quickly rising in popularity!  They are a "Blues Duo" that produces a lot of sound.  "Ricco" (Eric  Jaqua) plays Guitar (Electric/Acoustic) sings with conviction and lays down GROOVY BEATS with the revolutionary  "FOOTDRUMS."  Background Vocals, Keyboard, Ion Harp Holder (Harp Rack) and "Seasoned Pro" Harmonica licks blown by the one and only Hipps! (Charlie Witthoeft)

 Ben Overbeek

 Ben Overbeek

"New to the Northern Michigan Music Scene- Ben Overbeek is just beginning his musical journey as a performing artist. Currently recording his debut album "On Tap" and earning his spot in the famous local pubs and clubs of Northern Michigan, Ben Overbeek is a name soon to be recognized among acoustic soul music fans the world over."

Moors & McCumber

Influenced by the songwriting of Steve Earle, Gillian Welch and Neil Young, Moors and McCumber deliver songs full of rich harmonies that take you places.

 Nathan Bates

Nathan Bates was a chef before he decided to pursue his life-long love of music full-time, so it’s fitting that his first CD is named Original Recipe.
That also could refer to the fact that he wrote all 12 of the songs on the album.
The Boyne resident recorded the tunes at Freshwater Studio in Boyne City with keyboard-player Joshua Hall and percussionist Greg Vadnais.
Bates’ mellow but full-bodied voice graces the crisp, professional recordings, along with his rhythmically engaging acoustic guitar.
Bates’ favorite musicians are Ray LaMontagne, Jackie Greene and Greg Brown. Fans of those musicians should find something to like with Bates’ style, as well.

Randy Reszka Jazz Guitarist

Randy Reszka

Solo Jazz guitarist....  I have been playing jazz guitar for over thirty years, and I'm sure I have never played any tune the same way twice. That's how it works !!!    I studied jazz in the 1980's at Western Michigan University.   While attending WMU I was taking private jazz guitar instruction from renowned jazz guitarist John Riemer - scales, arpeggios, tonal centers, tension and release, that kind of stuff.  It's great to know if you want to be serious about it, I did then and I still do!!

Brain McCosky

Brain McCosky began his music career in the open mic scene in Petoskey, Michigan. As time went on, he became the host of the very open mic of which he first performed. And it was here that his journey began. Years ago, while learning guitar, he noticed that he had a knack for writing original material. Over the years, this talent has blossomed and Brain never looked back. In 2007, his original song "Hobo Blues" was selected as one of the top 15 finalists for the Song of the Year award in Great Lakes Songwriting contest. There were over 580 entries into the competition. Currently working on his debut album, Brian has Spent the better part of six years as a live performer.
